Happy Halloween!!

I have been having some trouble with blogger lately so I have not been able to blog very much.  I finally got it to work enough to blog.  I had to blog about halloween.  We had a good Halloween this year.  We were going to go to a different corn maze this year but the weather was not cooperating so we decided to just go out to country mercantile.  It was rainy a little but we bundled up and took out umbrellas and decided to have fun anyway.  Seth and the kids climbed Hay mountain.  They all made it to the top and fun fun getting there.

The kids then jumped into the hay maze and Haylee did a good job helping the other little ones find there way through it.
She takes her job as the big sister very seriously and made sure that Kyle and Max found there way out.

We went to the corn maze next, even though I don't know why.  Every year we do it and every year I just get frustrated with it.  At first we were having fun taking turns deciding which way to go, then it slowly turned into just Seth and I deciding which way to go.  Until finally we were not even trying to find the exit anymore we were just trying to find the entrance again so we could get the heck out of there.  Max started to be less than fun and it started to get cold and we were just walking around in circles.  We will probably try again next year.

Max wasn't too excited about picking a pumpkin.  He just watched us walk around and look at them and he found himself a nice spot to sit and relax.
Kyle got a little cold and tired so we let him have a ride back in the wagon with the pumpkins, he got a kick out of that.

If you can believe it I climbled up on the straw mountain to help Max get through the little tunnel, I made it and it was really kinda fun.  As adults we have to use our kids as excuses to why we are playing on the kid toys.

Carving pumpkins was fun this year.  It was interesting because Kyle has never enjoyed carving pumpkins he thinks it is discusting and stinks and wants no part of it.  Haylee has dug right in from day one and Max didn't seen to have a problem with it either and jumped right in there. Kyle did a little better this year as long as I gave him a really long spoon.  I think it may have had something to do with the fact that he saw Max doing it.  He and Max shared a pumpkin and did a great job cleaning it out. Haylee wanted to do her own pumpkin this year so I let her do it.  She did a simple pumpkin with triangle eyes and nose and a mouth.  It turned out really good.

This year for Halloween we had a beautiful angel, a cowboy, and a football player.  I was impressed with Haylee this year.  Usually she changes her mind over and over again, but this year we saw some angel wings she liked and she stuck with it until the end.  She got a really cute dress to wear from Chloe and she found the wings, gloves and halo herself and it turned out really pretty.  Kyle was a cowboy last year so I was actually glad when he said he wanted to be that again because I already had the costume.  Then I realized that it was lost and couldn't find it.  I was mad to have to buy a cowboy costume for the second year in a row but oh well.  You would think a cowboy is a fairly common costume too and should be easy to find.  It was actually really hard to find, I had to go to the Halloween store and it was extremely over priced for the whole costume so I just bought the scarf and vest and made it work.  He was a pretty cute cowboy.  I decided to have Max be a football player because I thought it was neat that both Haylee and Kyle were football players on there second Halloween.  So all three of my kids now have been football players one their second Halloween.

So here is the cousins all dressed up and ready to go trick or treating.  Dylan didn't go this year.  He is getting a little bigger and didn't want to go out.  It is amazing how fast they grow. We had a cute bunch this year.

Kyle and Max had a hard time keeping up with the older kids so it was good that they had eachother to trick or treat with.  Kyle did a good job showing Max the ropes.  They both did really good and had fun trick or treating.

Two happy boys, two happy birthdays!!

August 12th was Kyle and Max's birthday.  I have been a little worried about the boys sharing a birthday ever since I realized at the hospital having Max that I was not going to have him before midnight the day before Kyles birthday.  The entire pregnancy I knew that it was going to be close but I never thought that it would actually happen on the same day.  I have wondered what it was going to be like have two kids with birthdays on the same day.  Will they feel sad that they don't get their own day?  Will they like having someone to share a birthday with? So we had our first experience with this and it wasn't too bad.  Of course Mas was turning 1 and won't remember any of it and Kyle was turning 3 and didn't care about anything but the presents and cake.

Kyle picked out the cake he wanted at albertsons and was really excited about the monster truck cake.  They told me at albertsons that if I ordered a big cake I would get the 1 year old cake for free.  So I thought that was perfect seeing how I needed one of each anyway.  So we order the cakes and the morning of their birthday Albertsons calls me and tells me they can no longer give me the 1 year old cake for free because it was for a different person.  They can only give me the deal if they have the same name on them.  So I was pretty ticked and told them to forget it then and I would no longer order cakes through them.  So I went to Yokes and they have the same rule (stupid!!) but they were willing to give it to me this time.  However they did not have the monster truck kit.  So Seth and I thought we could find our own monster truck to put on the cake if they would just decorate it.  We looked all over and it was turning out to be harder to find a little monster truck than we thought.  Seth finally found a monter school bus.  Kyle loved it, and it came with a matching tatoo, even better.  So after everything I thought his monster truck cake turned out ok.  He was pretty happy with it too.
We got Kyle a few little things but his main present was a basketball hoop.  He loved the one that my sister had at her house so we thought this would be a good idea.  Basketball is by far Kyles favorite sport.  I signed him up to play soccer and he liked it but was concerned that we were playing on a basketball court.  He really wanted to play basketball.
One tricky thing about having two boys share a birthday is that no matter what they get for their birthday, they always want to play with whatever the other one got.  So Max wanted to play with Kyles toys which got Kyle a little upset and Kyle wanted to play with Max's toys.  It wasn't too bad we didn't have too many fights but I am a little concerned about the future when they get to be a little older.

So we each held a boy and got ready to blow out the candles.  Max needed a little help from Kyle to get his candle out but Kyle was more than willing to help him out.
At first Max was a little hesitant about his cake.  It was like he was looking at me like "really Mom this is all for me?"
I gave him a fork and then he really dug in.  He just didn't want to get his hands all in it I guess.  He ate a little of it but mostly had fun just playing in it.
After the mess we took his diaper off and he got to have a little bath in Grandmas sink what a lucky guy.
So my two boys are exactly 2 years apart to the day.  I know they will not always get along and will fight like boys a lot of the time but hopefully they will always be good friends and not mind sharing a birthday.

Summer fun!

This summer we took a two week trip to California to see my family.  It was a long ride but we made it and we had a blast while we were there.  My Dad took the kids fishing at Witney portal.  They each caught a fish.  I think their favorate part was holding the fish after they caught it.

Kyle made friends with my sisters chickens.  He loves animals and was always going over to say hello.
We got to go to the beach for a few days also while we were there and soak up some sun.  It was a blast and Seth and the kids enjoyed a long standing tradition in my family and got frozen bananas from the candy shop.
Kyle tried his hand at surfing on the boogy board.
I taught Seth how to boogy board and he really picked it up.  Then I couldn't get him out of the water.  Haylee even tried it and did a really good job on some smaller waves.  She had a ton of fun.
She was actually pretty good at it and picked it up fast.  She and Seth would go out and wait for a wave and then she would just lay on the board and Seth would give her a little push and off she went.
This is typical Kyle, (in Haylees sweater).  He loved the beach.
Seth and the kids saw some birds on the beach one evening and thought it would be fun to go run through them.  Kyle thought this was really fun.
Playing with some cousins in the sand.
We went through Boise and picked up uncle Kevin on our way and while their we went to the Zoo in Boise.  My Moms name is Rhea and I thought it was so cool that they had birds called Greater Rhea, so I took a picture.
The Zoo was cool they got to feed some animals and they had a butterfly room where you could go in and see all kinds of butterflies and watch them all fly around.  It was really neat.
I think their favorate part was feeding the Giraffs though.  They thought that was pretty cool.

Kyle loved the Lions though.  He liked to say how big they were.  We had a really good time.  It was a fun summer vacation.

4th of July 2012

We had a fun filled fourth of July this year.  We started out the festivities by decorating the kids bikes with red white and blue streamers and ribbon.  We added some stars and flags and they were ready to go.

They went on a mini family fourth of July parade.  It was a fun idea that would be neat to continue into a bigger tradition.  Here is Haylee ready to go.
Kyle doesn't have a bike yet so here he is on his scooter.
Here is the whole clan on there bikes ready for the parade.
Grandpa lead the way with the little ones following close behind.
After that we headed down to the river to watch the annual fireworks show.
Here is typicall Kyle, just chillin waiting for the fireworks to start.
After that we went home and did a couple sparklers outside for fun and then called it a night.  Happy 4th of July.

Haylee turns 6!!

I have A LOT of catching up to do on my blog. The summer has been sooo crazy but good crazy. We have had a lot of fun this summer. Haylee celebrated her sixth birthday. I can't believe it.  Haylee and I made her cake together it was fun but the icing I bought to write on it didn't work so we had to use the dot sprinkles and arrange them to say what we wanted it took awhile but we did it and it looked pretty good.

One thing she specifically asked for was a ken Barbie doll.  She said that she had girld barbies and she had a wedding dress but nobody for the to marry so we got her a groom.
She had a few friends over at the park near our house for a little party.  They played some games and broke a pinata and just had fun.  It turned out good I thought.
Here is the whole gang eating their cupcakes at the park.  It was a good day.  She is a big six years old.
